Eric Tucker, DPhil
Director of Education Partnerships, Federal Reserve Bank of New York
Dr. Eric Tucker is an applied researcher and entrepreneur with a track record of building organizations and programs that produce breakthrough results for urban students. He has built, consulted with, or evaluated social sector efforts and urban school systems in over 35 states and on four continents.
Dr. Tucker served as the President and Managing Director of Catalyst Strategy, a policy analysis and strategy firm serving innovative, mission-driven clients. As the cofounder, Chief Academic Officer, and former Executive Director of the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues (UDLs), he built UDLs serving 24 major urban school systems and over 500 schools. He founded and led the Rhode Island UDL, a statewide initiative serving four urban districts. Dr. Tucker has held positions at the Office of the Superintendent of Schools in Providence, the Institute of Education at the University of London, and the Institute for Elementary and Secondary Education. Dr. Tucker earned a doctorate from Oxford University and honors degrees in Public Policy and Africana Studies from Brown University. He is the recipient of Marshall and Truman Scholarships, and the co-editor of The Sage Handbook of Measurement.
